The primary difference between Single Link and Dual Link is that each supports varying resolutions. DVI Single Link can support up to 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz. Maximum length of a DVI cable if 5 Meter (16.5 ft). DVI cables are used with new video cards for higher resolution over VGA, they are also used with new digital TV’s and HD decoders.

DVI-I can support digital and analog (RGB). The connector has a few more pins, and some display and graphics cards manufacturers are offering this connector type on their products, as opposed to separate analog and digital connectors.
